OUR STAY AT MERINGO CREEK
My new husband and I were lucky to have a very generous friend who gave us a wedding gift of a weekend away which we were to choose. I searched various sites like stayz, wotif and stumbled on Air b 'n b which I know about but have never actually used.
We quite like the Moruya area on the NSW Sth Coast and when I stumbled on the Meringo Creek farm stay we were quite impressed with the reviews and thought we would give it a go.
I'm so glad we did!
We took our little girl with us who absolutely loved all the animals from watching funny bleeting goats and kids to donkeys. Then there's the awesome Eddie the border collie who is an amazingly smart dog.
The 2 storey house features a great little kitchen , living area and bathroom on bottom level with a rustic verandah with farm views and top features a very spacious bedroom with lots of beautiful light. It was very clean and a real home away from home. We had a lovely bottle of champagne on arrival for our post-wedding weekend away!
The owners are genuine and very friendly and made us feel at home at their property. Our first night we got to taste some delicious fresh produce which they sell at the markets on the Tuesdays.
Hughen was kind to offer a little adventure to us - we were given directions to go for a good walk down the property and through to the river where we could get in a canoe. Getting in was a little wobbly but we did it and started paddling down the river to come out on sand to a quite secluded beach. We found a shady spot and had afternoon tea. We were blown away that Eddie the dog was our guide - he ran in front of us to show the way to the canoes and then started swimming in the river we started paddling. He made his way along the bank and met us the other end to come and join us on the beach. See what I mean by smart!
For dinner on night 2 we went to the Moruya bowling club for a delicious meal and such friendly staff. Nothing was a hassle and smiles all round.
